The park was developed in the 1970's from former quarry workings and wasteland and provide the people of Easterhouse with open space. The park originally ran to 74 acres, but this was reduced to only 20 when the southern section was used to provide retail space for the Glasgow Fort shopping centre. The park has two A-listed buildings within its grounds; Provanhall House and Blochairn House. Provanhall House is believed to date from the 1500's although some features suggest it may be of a similar or older age to Provands Lordship, credited with being the oldest dwelling within Glasgow.
Facilities
Formal walled gardens at Provanhall House and Blochairn House are complimented by woodland and bog gardens with a pond and central island for wildlife.
