Darnley Mill ParkThis is a featured page

History

The park is sited on top of old mine workings and are believed to have been originally owned by Robert De Croc who built Crookston Castle. The land was then owned by the Darnley branch of the Royal Stewart family and then by the Maxwell familly in the 18th Century.

Facilities

There are no formalised facilities within the park but there are paths. Some geological outcrops of limestone and shale can be seen in Waukmill Glen and in the south west of the park, the remains of the curling pond once associated with the now demolished Darnley House can be seen.
