I worked on the Glasgow railway between 1979 - 1984, including some time at Glasgow central station.
During that time, I saw the changes taking place on the station concourse and the introduction of the "new" 'O-M-O' (one man operated) trains. At the time that was a serious safety concern to the train operating staff, and it still is. Some would argue that the train derailments/ train crashes which occurred after that time could have been prevented. We may never know for sure.
Does anyone else have tales to relate from around that time?
