The River Clyde runs through the heart of Glasgow but begins its journey in the Lowther Hills at the confluence of the
Daer Water and the Potrail Water. From here, The River Clyde runs north and west towards Lanark, joined by many tributaries until the Falls of Clyde where the water was at one time used to power the mills on New Lanark and now is a source of hydroelectricity.
The Clyde continues its journey north and enters the Glasgow City boundary where the
North Calder Water enters the Clyde. From here, the Clyde forms the boundary of the City of Glasgow until the
King's Bridge at Richmond Park, when the river is fully within the city boundary.
