Scotland Street School Museum is a museum about school education in Glasgow, it is located on the south side of the city, in the Kingston district. It is a former school built by Charles Rennie Mackintosh between 1903 and 1906. The building is one of Glasgow's foremost architectural attractions.
During the building's construction, Mackintosh frequently battled the school board about the design (the board wanted a less expensive design). The total cost for the building was £34,291. The building features a pair of windowed Scottish baronial style tower staircases. The school, which also served Tradeston, was designed for an enrolment of 1,250. However, by the 1970s the area was experiencing urban decay, and the school's enrolment fell to under 100. The school closed in 1979.
The museum has three classroom which show the changing face of the classroom from the Victorian era through the Second World War to the classroom of the fifties and sixties. The cookery room, cloakrooms, and drill hall are restored to Mackintosh's original 1906 designs. In other rooms you can listen to and read former pupils' recollections of their schooldays. Decade by decade, their memories cover topics such as classroom discipline, evacuation and the Second World War, school attire, special activities, playground games and the changing face of the local area.

Outside the school at the back they have the two playgrounds, bike sheds and toilets, all of which are separated by a wall and railings which was designed to keep the boys and girls separate.
Entry to this museum is FREE, and to get to it the easiest route is via public transport to Shields Road Underground Station, beside the station is a park and ride facility which costs £3.50 to park in.
